Bridging I-95 Concept Study: Connecting Wilmington’s Communities
The project is a concept study to construct a cap over I-95 in downtown Wilmington and would provide new public amenities, greenspace, and multimodal connectivity to Wilmington’s neighborhoods. The initial feasibility study was developed by WILMAPCO.
DelDOT was awarded $2.0 million to fund a concept study of the project through the Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhood Grant Program, advancing the work initiated by WILMAPCO. Further information will be posted here when it is available.
Step 1
The concept study limits include I-95 between North Jackson and North Adams Streets and between Delaware Avenue and West 6th Street as show below.
