Middletown Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan
Middletown Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan
The town of Middletown, DE, located in southern New Castle County, has experienced rapid growth in recent years, resulting in an increased demand for safe and accessible walking and bicycling paths that connect local neighborhoods to downtown areas and recreational amenities. The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is prepared a study evaluating existing conditions within Middletown that will provide the basis for identifying bicycle and pedestrian improvements. The evaluation included consideration of the existing Westown and Eastown Transportation Improvement Districts (TIDs); crash data; current and future land use; municipal, regional, and state planning guidance; other completed studies; and input from Town representatives, local organizations, and residents.
The Project Timeline provides an overview of key milestones. The tabs above include additional details on the public involvement and efforts to obtain public feedback to develop the recommendations.
